Conductix Wampfler takes over LJU

Synergies in the automotive industry

Conductix-Wampfler, one of the world's leading manufacturers of systems for power and data transmission for mobile consumers, has successfully, legally completed the takeover of LJU Automatisierungstechnik GmbH from Grenzebach Maschinenbau GmbH. The transaction contractually signed on 14 November 2017 was able to be brought to conclusion as planned on 31/12/2017 in accordance with all rules and regulations.

Gradual integration into the Conductix-Wampfler group

"LJU has therefore been a member of the Conductix-Wampfler family since the start of this year", enthuses François Bernès, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Conductix-Wampfler. LJU will now be integrated step by step into the Conductix-Wampfler group. "We are delighted to have found in Conductix-Wampfler the right partner for LJU and are hoping for much success in the future", explains Renato Luck, CEO of the Grenzebach group.

The previous managing director of LJU Automatisierungstechnik GmbH, Günter Arztmiller, will continue to manage the businesses of LJU. Michael Eckle, Director of Global Marketing, Innovation & IP at Conductix-Wampfler, will support Günter Arztmiller as a second managing director. The augmented company management will be jointly responsible for the integration of LJU and joint product and solution development. The first steps have already been made. The sales employees of LJU in Brazil, China and in the USA, which were previously employed in the companies of the Grenzebach group, are switching to the Conductix-Wampfler sales & marketing organisations of the respective countries. "We are delighted that Grenzbach will continue to be a partner of LJU and thus a partner of Conductix-Wampfler", stresses Bernès. The bilateral commercial relationships should not only be maintained but also expanded.

New solutions for the automotive industry

With the product range and know-how of LJU, Conductix-Wampfler is able to expand its product portfolio for its customers significantly. "Together we are developing new solutions for the automotive industry, consisting both of power and data transmission and also mobile control systems", says Michael Eckle. LJU is a provider of control systems and communication solutions with its headquarters in Potsdam and was a part of the Grenzebach group from 2009. The roughly 100 employees generate the majority of its revenue from the automotive industry. The control systems from LJU are used in overhead monorails, for example. "Our customers increasingly demand complete solutions with mechatronic approaches. We are going to actively address this trend immediately", says Eckle.
